House Muddyfoot, Clan of the Ogres

House Muddyfoot, the Ogre Clan is a small group dedicated to having fun!

HISTORY
The Household formed over 7 years ago (pre-Shrek for those who were wondering <img:stuff/medieval.gif>

) as the seed of an idea, when the house mother and a friend began naming the members of our merry group such ogre names as Clomper-stomper Giggleface, Ringfaced Wordmangler, and Moosehead Spawnrunner, just to name a few. She also observed that, since the war was HOT (Darkwell war in the high desert region of California in July) we chose sandles as appropriate footwear and by the end of the war, well, yes, our feet were all muddy. Thus a House name was derived.

         HOUSE HOLIDAYS/TRADITIONS
Treasure Chest War, held in Nordwache (Fresno, California) marks the household anniversary. On this weekend we share with others at the event by holding an Ogre-egg hunt, in which lucky egg-finders can win a bottle of the House Mother's own liqueur called Temptation. The Ogre-athlon is held during this event, featuring such activities as "Wack an Ogre off a Log" (boffers) or "Pull an Ogre off a Log" (tug-o-war) in which anyone can participate. We also hold our own personal Ogremas celebration on this day, in which members exchange gifts of items they have either made or found lying around the house.

The only other house holiday is the ever exciting Quizno's day, celebrated around February 14, in which the tradition is to give the gift of animal parts (i.e. Furs, bones, leather, teeth.)

           PHILOSOPHY
We try to remain out of local politics, as these have gotten too sticky for us in the past.
